Tony and Bev,
Deepest condolences on the loss of your son. As parents we are conditioned to expect that our children will survive us, not the other way around, so no words can truly express the distress that a tragedy such as this brings about. I know it must be very hard on you both at this time. Personally I dont know how I would cope in similar circumstances. I know your faith in God will see you through and with the assurance that He knows best, we join hands and hearts with you in this time of bereavement.

Tribute to AL from Latanya & Ludlow (Monteith)  / Latanya Monteith Housen (Friend)

Alistair was a sweet soul, he was always a light, a smile, a hug that you were sure of when you saw him.  He had a very imaginative mind themed with an arsonal of stories.
The last time we saw the more mature yet laughable AL in Mandeville @ church he was excitedly telling us of his plans in Junction in conjunction with Sir T. We were very happy for him, knowing that he was happy to venture in other areas.
We would not have known that he would become 1 of the very angels that God would have called back early to fight. We are sure though that he is happy where he is, while a void has been left in the hearts of those who held him so dear.
Gone but will never be forgotten, a candle whose light will continue to shine in our hearts and minds.
To the Tomlinson's family we say hold on to God, He will give you all that you need to get through this, you have a lost a son, a brother and a friend, it won't be easy but the prayers of all those care are with you all...
God Bless.

To be honest I don't know where to start.  Words cannot describe how I felt when I found out you were gone and I still can't find the words now.  All I know is that you were one of the truest friends anyone could ask for. It's hard to say the type of person you were and how you made your friends feel because it was so unreal...we hardly find that kind of friendship these days.  I know tears won't bring you back or heal the pain but that's my comfort for now.  Just remember "I WILL ALWAYS LOVE.....I'LL REMEMBER YOU" Close

My most heartfelt condolences go out to the Tomlinson family. You guys were so welcoming and hospitable to me during my visit with Norton back in 1998, I will never forget that trip in my life, and Al was a big part of that. I'll never forget him. Close

If I Could Bring You Back  / Shereda Coke (Friend)
If I could bring you back again,
For one more hour or day,
I would express all of my unspoken love,
I would have countless things to say.
If I could bring you back again,
I would tell you how much I treasured you,
And that your presence in my life,
Meant more than Iever knew.
If Icould bring you back again,
I would tell you what I should,
You would know how much I miss you,
And if I could, I would.
 Love You Al

Dear Tomlinson Family

I'm not sure if I remember your son, but we are pretty much the same age.  I celebrated my 30th yesterday so I can only imagine how you all feel; actually I can't because this loss is unforgettable.

I offer my prayers, that truly you will always remember that God knows all and it is He, who gives and takes away.  May His Holy Spirit comfort YOU ALL in this time of grief.  May salvation be all yours, so that you will reign with Him in the end.

God Bless

It is my wish and prayer that the Peace of God that passes all human understanding will be with the family and close friends during these difficult times. It is diffcult, it is hard , but God is the great healer , and even as we mourn, we can rest assured that Joy cometh in the morning. Be strong and hold on, Tony and family

The Balm Of God's Love
by M.S.Lowndes

When we lose someone we love
The loss seems too great to bear
God sends us friends to comfort us
To show that He deeply cares

But in the dark hours of the night
When there’s nobody else around
When we feel the saddest and loneliest
It’s there God’s love can be found

It’s like a soothing, healing balm
To soothe our broken hearts
The healing oil poured over us
That flows into every part

We can rest secure in God’s love
And know He’s by our side
He holds us when we feel as though
A part of us has died

We can know that God will listen
When we just want to talk
And when we feel we need to cry
We can share it with the Lord

For He is always waiting there
Ready with arms open wide
As we pour out the hurt within
He pours His love inside

Our Father above loves us so much
And will never leave us alone
He will not forsake us in our need
To face this on our own

He comforts us and strengthens us
And rubs us with His balm
And as the dawn breaks through the night
We’ll awake in His loving arms.

Gone...but not forgotten  / Sandra Gibson (cousin)  Read >>
Gone...but not forgotten  / Sandra Gibson (cousin)
Tony, Bev, Candice, Richard and Andrew my heart is so heavy…and my eyes filled with tears. I want you to know that I feel your pain - I cry with you and that I am walking this painful journey with you.

Al was very special to me. I knew him as a baby and at 5 he was my ring bearer. I made special trips just to go to his birthday party in Mandeville and he always told me “I love you Auntie Sandra” He was my special little cousin. I held him as a baby and watched him become a man. I remember the summers Al and Candy came to visit me in the Bahamas and all the fun we had. They would teach me how to do the latest dance moves and we would be having so much fun together. There was never a time I visited his parents that Al was not there to welcome me with his hugs. Just how he loved me he loved my daughter Lauren and his Uncle Walter. He never spoke to me without asking for Lauren and Uncle Walter.

I am happy that we drove to Junction to see Al last November when I was in Jamaica. Who would have known that it was the last time I would have seen him and hugged him? I can still picture him sitting on his mom’s lap in the truck as he, Gassim and Seydou talked about their lives. We shared many jokes and laughter resounded in the truck all the way to Mandeville. I will forever cherish those memories.

Did you know the most powerful way one can express oneself short of words is with a hug. That is what Al gave freely to everyone - his affectionate hugs and embraces. They were always so warm, so tender and so spontaneous. Although he is not with us anymore his precious memories will live on in our hearts and with each hug we receive it will be a constant reminder of him.

Tony, Bev, Candy, Richard & Andrew I want you to be strong and I ask God to give you his peace.

Love always
Sandra

I dont even know where to begin......still cant believe you are gone.
i remember the first time we were formally introduced as cousins....it was a shocker to both of us because we had known each other previous to that and never knew we were related. That made our bond that much stronger.

Al you are by far the kindest, gentlest ,warmest person i have met so far in my life. You always had words of encouragement for anyone you came across, whether you knew them for a long time or you had just met them. I sit here with tears flowing because i know god knows....... best but that doesnt mean i still cant ask why. Why would he take someone as beautiful as you and so soon. Thinking of past times brings a smile to my face. I remember you always hugging and kissing someone and it pains me because we can no longer feel  those loving arms embrace us. i just want to extend my sympathy to Uncle Tony, Aunt Bev and Candice at this time of unbearable sorrow. Al i love you, i miss you and most importantly i will NEVER EVER forget you. Sleep on my beloved cousin. Close

To my dearest nephews and nieces ----the Tomlinson family:
Ever since I heard the sad news, tears are flowing like a river and I am in a state of shock. Only the Almighty knows why such a young life was snatched away from this earth  so quickly without any warning, without any fond goodbye. I pray for you incessantly, Tony, Bev, Candice, Andrew, Richard that God will support and carry you through this difficult time and that you will not allow despair and depression to overcome you. Trust in God and be strong even though you are heart-broken and the tears are flowing. How I wish I could be there at this time but from all indications it seems that I will not be able to make it.
Al was such a pleasant and out-going young man. Whenever I met him in Jamaica, I always get a bear-hug and an introduction to anyone nearby. I shall miss him dearly.
May God bless and keep you in the palm of His hand.
Love. Uncle Astley Close

Soon after Alistair came to Munro he joined the Track team. He was very easy to get along with and fun to be around. We went on track meets together and ran on the same relay team. It was becuase of him I got to know Mr Tomlinson who was the manager for our track team. Incidentally, through being associated with Alistair and his parents, I was able to get the Job that I now hold for over 12 years.
May God continue to bless Mr and Mrs T. & Candice. Your Son and Brother has touched many lives in many ways. He will be greatly missed but God know all things.
God Bless.
Gary.
