When you feel Lonely  / Valerie Sutherland (Cousin)

To Bev, Tony & Candy

When you feel Lonely

When the person you love has passed away

Look to the night sky on a clear day.

The STAR that to you, appears to be bright,

Will be ALISTAIR, looking upon you during the night.

The lights of heaven are what shows through

As Alistair watches all that you do.

When you feel lonely for the one that you love

Look to the Heavens in the night sky above

Alistair was one of the gentlest people you could meet - even in his speech he spoke gentle. My husband Cecil said that the last time he spoke to Alistair when he was on holiday in Jamaica in January 07 he was so full of life. What a sad loss, but God has got another Angel and I am sure he will be watching over his family and friends. Rest in Peace Alistair. Close

Tony, Bev & Candice :

Keep your eyes on the good times, and feel the love surrounding you.  There will always be times of trial, but for every sorrow, there is hope; for every tear, there is love.  As you work your way through this time of sadness, may strong and lasting memories be your comfort.  As you journey down this road of many branching paths... let's walk together.

Shining Star  / Michael Morgan (Cousin)
Sincere condolences at the sad loss of such a bright young man.

On a trip to Jamaica both Alistair and myself would hang out in the evening. On one such occaision as we walked from town he stopped and pointed into the sky his finger following a shooting star. Had he not pointed this out I would have missed a rare opportunity.

I had not seen one before and have not seen one since but it makes me think that perhaps it takes a shining star to recognise another shining star.

We will miss you Alistair.

Gone too soon.....  / Seydou Bangoura (cousin)
I have very fond childhood memories of Alistair. He was truly one of a kind, charismatic, always making everyone laugh. Alistair just had this likeable quality about him.

As youngsters Gassim and I visited Jamaica for our summer vacation every year. Alistair was like a brother to us. Another year Alistair and Candace came up to Montreal, for a couple months and we all went to summer camp together. I still remember those fun times.

Unfortunately we lost touch over the years. However, I am happy that we were able to reconnect when I was in Jamaica last year. It was as if no time had passed We were on the terrace of a restaurant over-looking the Jamaican countryside reminiscing about our childhood and our plans for the future, since both of us were appoaching 30. After all these years we didn't miss a step. Our conversation flowed like old friends.

I had plans to come back to Jamiaca for the summer and he told me he was going to be my guide, taking me everywhere. We were going to have a blast. I don't know why you were taken away from us so soon.

Bev, Tony, Candace I express my condolences for the loss of your son and brother.

I know the pain you feel but I assure you you're not alone. I am just as distraught with his passing and I echo the emotion of his fellow schoolmates. My comforting thought which I'll share with you "His (God's) strength is perfect when our strength is gone, he'll carry us when we can't carry on". That has been my comfort. I pray it will become your's as well. You are in prayers always. Close

Childhood Memories  / Gassim Bangoura (Cousin)

I have fond childhood memories of Alistair - one's that I won't soon forget. As children, my mom used to bring my brother Seydou and I to Jamaica to visit Tony, Bev, Alistair and Candice. We used to PLAY all day long - doing what kids do best! Alistair was always full of life - a truly unforgettable person. To know him was to love him. He was affectionate and a fiercely loyal friend.

Al and I lost contact over the years, but we reunited last November when I was in Jamaica for Auntie Norma's funeral. I was so excited to see him, and I am grateful to have been given this gift - for it was the last time that I would see him again. After almost 20 years, Seydou and I so comfortably "reconnected" with Al. It's like we never missed a beat. Al was exactly as I remembered him - deep, intelligent, funny and playful. There is a picture of the 3 of us on this website, that night of our reunion.

To Tony, Bev, Candice, Richard and Andrew: My most heartfelt sympathy goes out to you. May God spare you further sorrow, but let us be thankful to Him for having put Alistair in our lives.

To go through a period like this, you all need strength and composure. It may see hard but believe it or not, you all are showing these qualities. God is walking with you all, and though the tears wont stop coming, Alistair is still with you maybe not in body but he is in all your hearts.
